Hand-Held Metal Detectors

Sunday, April 18th, 2010
Jin Huang asked:

A third style, the Printed Spiral, is made only by Tesoro for use with pulse induction circuitry. It offers good sensitivity to a broader range of target sizes and improved sensitivity to less conductive targets such as fine gold chains. All searchcoils are electrostatically shielded and waterproof. There are certain features needed for certain places the device is going to be used for. If you intend to use it on the beach, the terrain wont be that rigorous. But you are going to need waterproof protection.

Hand-held Metal Detectors are designed to safeguard security-sensitive areas like schools, courtrooms, corrections facilities, sports events, businesses, nightclubs, bars and other public areas and events. They are used along with walk-through metal detectors.

Metal detectors work on the principal of electromagnetism and their effects on conductive metals. The high-powered coil of metal, called the transmitter, uses the battery power to generate a penetrating magnetic field. As the electromagnetic field enters the ground, anything metallic will become charged with magnetism.

Metal detecting for beginners

Metal detecting activity is full of excitement and is an adrenaline rush. No wonder, for anyone who easily fell in love with this hobby and is determined to get started. No one will blame you for it. As a beginner, you will need some valuable tips to get you started on your hunt for treasure. Follow these tips and you will never go wrong.

1.Identify winning spots to make your treasure hunting a success. Sure areas where you can conduct a metal detecting spree are as follows:

Backyards – to start your metal detecting session, please do not hesitate to dig up your own area; avoid the misconception that you already know your area and no interesting finds can be dug up;

Woods – this is a rich soil for treasure hunters because this is perceived to be one of the places treasures are hidden;

Parks – people converge on parks and street cleaners might clean up the whole area, but there is always the possibility that you can find something in the park;

Riverbanks – these places can also be a haven for hunters. You can also do a little researching about ship ports, ferry landings and others which can also increase your chances for having more interesting finds;

When buying a metal detector consider the price. If the metal detector offers the best features of a then expect it to be expensive. If having fewer features is all right with you, go for a less expensive one. Metal detectors can run from as low as $50 to higher than $800. The good news is that prices have never been lower for such easy to use full featured automatic detectors. A good way to view the purchase is to decide how much money you are comfortable spending.

Any place there is construction and the ground is being cleared, that is a great place to start treasure hunting. Successfull treasure hunting starts with having the right metal detector. But which type of metal detector should you get? Complete info on metal detectors and treasure hunting at http://detect-metal.info. he man of the house would have buried a cache of money someplace that could be seen from the bedroom window. Loose change could have been dropped when getting in or out of vehicles.

Some cant perform as much. This is decided by the battery life of the device you are going to purchase. Also decide if you rather have extra batteries or if you prefer to get a charging kit.

For walking speed, remember the paint rollerr analogy above. As long as you are painting the entire surface of the ground and not missing any spots, you are not walking too quickly. However, if you find that your imaginary paint is missing areas, you need to slow down your pace.

Beaches – people gather on beaches for summer fun and these places are also good for the hunters; find a quiet time to conduct your hunting spree; especially during peak season so no one can “bug you” and all your finds may remain intact since laws order a cleaning of seashores during evenings or early mornings;

2.Study and learn your entire metal detector, inside and out. Make it a habit to read and internalize the manual of your metal detector so you can master its use and maintenance for effective metal detecting. After learning it, practice the use of it and try to feel determine what your metal detector is trying to tell you.

3.It is important to do your assignment – research about metal detecting and learn the principles of its use. With the references available, you can also find some other places where you can conduct your metal detecting search or ask for the support of your neighbors by asking them to open up their backyards for you. Explain to them metal detecting as a form of a hobby as well as its practical use.

These are tips to guide you as you get started on your metal detecting spree. If you do all these, metal detecting will never be complicated for you as you learn all the skills required.

A recent study proves that hand-held metal detectors are just as accurate as x-rays in finding coins and other metallic objects swallowed by children. Schools everywhere are using metal detectors to help filter out violence. The metal detectors can very easily (for this is why they are used) detect a knife or gun. Police stations and Airports use them as well.

The basic metal detectors are easy to get used to, with less features and buttons. Find out more about bounty hunter metal detector today! It does, however, have its own downsides. Some say that the knobs of the Pro XL are quite loose and when adjusting it, you have to be careful not to hit it with your arms. It is quite sensitive and bumping it may require you to start or reset the adjustments. Some users put a rubber band around the knobs to keep them from moving or becoming loose. It is always very nice to purchase at least the second model up in the brand. You will get a few more bells and whistles and a lot more control over your detecting. Total purchase means that you will also need some accessory items such as trowels, scoops headphones and coil covers.

Smart women have better sex

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010
Kylie Welsh asked:

Smart woman have better sex!  Women considered to be ‘emotionally intelligent’ – can express their feelings and read those of others – have better sex lives, recent research from the UK shows.

This makes sense doesn’t it?  Smart women can read situations better, are more in touch with their feelings and are more likely to get what they want from their partner sexually.  According to this recent research, emotionally intelligent women have twice as many orgasms.   The results also show that 40% of women find it difficult to fully enjoy sex.

I spoke with Kim Gillespie recently about this.  Kim and her business Secrets from the Boudior specialize in female sexuality.  Why does this continue to be such a complex area for many women?  I asked Kim this and for any tips she felt would be helpful.  Her thoughts are below.

1. Good sex does begin in the brain.  It is as simple and as straight forward as that.  If, for example, you are holding in anger – it will be very difficult to get in the mood for sex.

In my experience, many women are holding in a lot of repressed anger and this inhibits their sexual pleasure.

Please ladies, if this is the case with you then go and see a psychologist who specializes in women’s issues.  You owe it to yourself to get to the bottom of your anger and resentment.  Try to communicate your feelings more and/or do other activities that have a calming effect on you such as meditation, yoga and relaxation exercises.  The most important thing is to stop internalizing anger and pain. Your long-term sexual satisfaction really does depend on it.

2. Lubrication – many things can affect vaginal lubrication.  Hormones or medications, for example, can impact.  More importantly, a lack of stimulation has a dramatic impact on sexual pleasure.  Women in general need at least 20- 30 minutes of foreplay to achieve orgasm and the average male needs only 3-5 minutes.  It is not a failure on the woman’s part to need extra lubrication but you need to feel confident and comfortable enough to communicate this to your partner. If you feel dryness is a problem even with extended foreplay, then see your family doctor for advice and invest in a good quality natural lubricant (SYLK – can be bought from most chemists and supermarkets)

3. Attitude – if you want to feel sexy… you have to think sexy.  Our sexuality is all about embracing ourselves as the wonderful, amazing women that we are. Who cares if we don’t have a perfect size 10 body? Most women have wrinkles and cellulite and a little extra padding. Ladies EMBRACE YOUR CURVES.  Look at Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez – with curves that would be shunned by any modelling agency.  They make no apology for their sexy, full, womanly figures. When you have a sparkle in your eyes, know who you are and where you are headed, you realize the only one holding the key to your own sexual pleasure and enjoyment is you.

4. Too tired for sex – of course you are tired.  Modern lives are very hectic for women with kids, career, family and running a household. We all need to slow down and take time out for ourselves. We need to remember to live sensually as women and take the time out to enjoy sexual pleasure. Even if you feel tired initially, it is amazing how quickly you can get in the mood with the right partner.  Make time for sexual pleasure.

5. Fantasize – did you know that the more we think about sex, the more we want it?  Take time to read erotica ( try Mills and Boon – Blaze – very sexy, or for the really adventurous souls – visit my website to read Mistress Vixens Fantasies) and connect again with your sexual energy.

6. Foreplay – every man needs be taught that foreplay should last 24/7. It is not just love notes and a little ‘rub here and there.’  Foreplay is about doing the dishes or maybe running you a bath while he puts the kids to bed.  We need to communicate this to our partners and insist we are feeling valued at all times of the day, not just when it comes to sex.

7. Get to know your own body – learn how your body responds to touch, discover what you like and dislike.  If you don’t know what turns you on, then it will be difficult to tell your partner what pleasures you.

8. Embrace your sensuality - looking after your body is important.  We need to cherish the temple in which we live!  When you rub body lotion onto your skin, do you just slather it in or do you gently massage it into your skin?  Take the time to think about how it feels on your skin – is it hot /cold? What does it smell like? How does your skin feel as you glide it over your curves?

Spoil yourself with sexy lingerie. Take notice of how your body moves when you are feeling more confident and sexy.  Instead of dragging your body around, climb back in and really feel how amazing it is to be inside.

9. Try a new rule – instead of giving pleasure first, make sure you orgasm before he heads down his pathway to pleasure.

10. Get in touch with your body first, and speak up -  it’s time to start feeling good about yourself and your sexuality.

This is only a small part of what I teach in my Goddess Guide to Essential Learning and Good Girls Guide to Naughty Sex Workshops.

So ladies, have confidence in yourself, learn what makes you feel good, and learn to show your partner what you enjoy.  Believe you are truly desirable and you will be.

Gold Mining: How Do We Get Gold Out of the Ground

Monday, April 12th, 2010
Ron Peterson asked:

The precious metal of gold has fascinated humans for thousands of years. But how do we actually get it out of the ground? Let’s take a look at the most common ways to mine gold.

There are two main gold mining methods, one is called “placer” and the other is “vein” mining. And another type of mining is when gold is collected as a by-product in the mining of other metals.

Placer Mining

Placer mining is practiced when the metal is found in unconsolidated deposits of sand and gravel from which the gold can be easily separated because of its high density. The sand and gravel suspended in moving water. Much heavier metal sinks to bottom and is separated by hand.

The simplest method of placer mining is panning. Here the miner swirls the mixture in a pan rapidly enough to carry the water and most of the gravel and sand over the edge while the gold remains on bottom. This was the classic method used by the Forty-Niners during the California gold rush of 1849 and has been immortalized in story, art, and song.

A more efficient form of placer mining uses a sluice box, a U-shaped trough with a gentle slope and transverse bars firmly attached to the trough bottom.

The bars — extending from side to side — catch the heaviest particles and prevent them from washing down the slope.

Sand and gravel are placed in the high end, the gate to a water supply is opened, and the lighter material is washed through the sluice box and out the lower end. The materials are caught behind the bars and are gleaned to recover gold.

Another variation of placer mining is called hydraulic mining. A very strong stream of water is directed at natural sand and gravel banks washing away the lighter materials. The suspended materials treated as if they were in giant sluice box.

Currently the most important placer technique is dredging. A huge shovel of several cubic meters capacity lifts the unconsolidated sand and gravel from soil and mud and the placer process starts.

Vein Mining

Vein, or lode mining is the most important of gold recovery methods. Each ounce of gold recovered requires the processing of about 100,000 ounces of ore. Much gold is deposited in rock veins and this method accounts for more than half world’s total gold production. Gold in veins may be of microscopic particle size, in nuggets or sheets, or in gold compounds. The ore requires extensive extraction and refining.

One-third of all gold is produced as a by-product of copper, lead, and zinc production. Copper must be electrolytically refined to raise its purity from 99% to the more than 99.99% that is required for many industrial purposes.

In the refining process an anode of impure copper is electrolyzed in a bath in which the cathode is a very thin sheet of highly refined copper. This process

creates anode sludge which contains gold in quantities sufficient to make its recovery profitable. One-third of all gold is obtained from such by-products.

Silver and platinum are also recovered from the copper anode sludge in quantities large enough to more than pay for the total refining process.

Extraction, Refining and Uses of Gold

Ore from the gold mine is first crushed in rod or ball mills. This process reduces the ore to a powdery substance. The gold is then extracted by amalgamation with mercury or by placer procedures. Approx. 70% is recovered at this point.

The remainder is then dissolved in dilute solutions of sodium cyanide or calcium cyanide. The addition of metallic zinc to these solutions causes metallic gold to precipitate. This precipitate is refined by smelting and the purification is completed by electrolysis. The sludge produced in this process will also contain commercial quantities of silver, platinum, osmium, and other rare-earth metals.

Gold is one of the first two or three metals, along with copper and silver that was used by humans in these metals’ elemental states. Because of its poor chemical reactivity it was found uncombined and required no knowledge of refining. Gold was used in decorative arts before 9000 BC. And civilizations prized gold for its beauty.

A principal use of gold today is as a currency reserve. For centuries gold was used directly as currency along with silver. During the 19th century, gold assumed the role as the sole basis of the currencies of most nations. Paper money was directly convertible into gold.

World War I, however, disrupted the “gold-standard” system. The original gold standard was gradually abandoned. The United States stopped minting gold coinage in 1934 and the dollar eventually emerged as the principal unit of international monetary transactions.

Since the 1970s, gold has been bought and sold on the world market, with widely fluctuating prices. Today gold reserves maintain only a very indirect relationship with currency values. However, as gold has declined as a currency reserve, its use in industrial processes has risen. On top of this, its beauty and workability continue to give gold an important role in the world’s jewelry industry.

The Culture of Belarusian Brides

Sunday, April 11th, 2010
Curt Webber asked:

In Eastern Europe you’ll find the small country of Belarus, with roughly 10 million people, among them a bevy of beautiful Belarusian brides hoping to find a marriage minded man from the West. Even though the majority of the population lives in the large cities (a full fifth of the population lives in Minsk, the capital city), Belarus is mostly an agricultural country and is often known best for the radioactive fallout the Chernobyl disaster sent raining down on the small country.

Most of the people of Belarus speak Russian, although you will also hear Belarusian, which sounds very similar to Polish. Belarus has been greatly influenced by the countries it shares a border with, including Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine and Russia. It was, in former days, a part of the USSR.

Many of the festivities and folk songs that Belarusians celebrate with have their history in the pagan Belarusians of centuries ago. Even today, the God of Sun, Yaryla is still celebrated in Belarus, although the main religions now are Orthodox and Catholic.

How does this affect you if all you want to do is marry a Belarusian bride? It affects you because it’s important to know as much as possible about a foreign bride’s country, her culture and beliefs, and anything else that may influence your relationship with her.

Each part of the world has a different belief system, with its own customs, traditions, and morals. You don’t have to agree with them, but you do need to respect the other person’s right to hold onto them, even if she moves to your country to become your wife.

In Belarus, for instance, there are distinct roles for men and women, such as preparing the table with food, which is considered the woman’s responsibility. A Belarusian man would not be expected to ever take part in that chore.

Like many countries, much of the Belarusian traditions revolve around food, and much of their food is served with vodka. They have an interesting tradition with food as it relates to matchmaking.

A matchmaker visits a hopeful Belarusian bride and brings gifts of food and drink. She suggests a potential husband for the woman, and if her recommendation is accepted, she returns to the house later with the potential groom, who brings a gift of vodka to the family. The young woman’s parents supply food for all.

When this ritual has been completed several times, the couple is considered to be engaged. If it doesn’t work out and one side decides to break the engagement, they’re expected to repay the other party for the food and drink expenses.

In contrast to old traditions, men and women in Belarus often hold the same jobs and receive comparable pay, but even in these modern times, gender specific roles are still recognized. The raising of children is the woman’s domain and with those younger than 14, the father seldom interferes with the mother’s decisions.

Years ago, when a young couple got married, they moved to their own little hut on family property owned by the groom’s parents. Celebrations of the marriage took place in the homes on both sides and everyone shared all the expenses.

Another cultural difference you may be unaware of is that young Belarusian brides who could work on the farm and keep house well were considered a better choice than one who was beautiful or wealthy and didn’t possess those skills.

Morals were strong in Belarus and a young woman was usually expected to still have her virginity when she married. In fact, sometimes it was also expected that the groom be a virgin as well.

When you decide you’d like to marry a Belarusian bride, take the time to learn about her culture. It will endear you to her, and will allow you to have a little more insight as to her beliefs and what she considers important.

Considerations When Buying a Garrett or Bounty Hunter Metal Detector

Friday, April 9th, 2010
Janet Ashby asked:

There are many different Garrett or Bounty Hunter metal detectors available for this popular hobby with a wide range of features and prices ranging from under $100 to over $1000. If you are going to invest a substantial amount in a new metal detector take some time to consider the options and features available before you rush out to make a purchase.

Learning the techniques will take some time and many people do not put in the effort necessary for success and give up too soon in frustration!

All the metal detectors available have some common components and parts. This includes a stabiliser which will keep the machine steady when you sweep it over the ground, a shaft to connect the coil to the control box, the control box to house the batteries, circuits, microchip, speaker and controls and the coil which is used to detect the target.

How Metal Detectors Work

Metal detectors use a principal called ‘electromagnetic induction’ This works by producing a field in the coil as current passes through it. If there is a metal object close to the coil the field becomes distorted and electrical eddy current are then induced in the object which produce a magnetic field of the opposite polarity to the one in the coil. This is what produces the signal in the detector that alerts you to the presence of the metal object.

Considerations When Purchasing a Metal Detector

Treasure hunting type – metal detectors are used to hunt for different types of treasure including gold and silver jewelry, gold nuggets, relics and coins. Specialised metal detectors are manufactured for each of these types of targets. If you are hunting for gold nuggets a specialised metal detector can be purchased. For the novice treasure hunter a multi purpose detector is a good start.

Locations – Where you will be treasure hunting is important when you are deciding on the detector to purchase. Some are better in highly mineralised areas that other. Sandy beaches need a detector with a good ground balance and if you intend to hunt in the surf or underwater a water proof detector is a must.

How experienced are you? – If you are new to metal detecting a basic detector with a few features is probably the best to start with. More sophisticated detectors have many more features but a steeper learning curve. Novices who purchase a detector with a wide range of features tend to be the ones who give up in frustration.

Weight – .This is an important consideration as you will be spending a lot of time swinging the detector around and you will easily get tired if the detector is too heavy.

Price – the more sophisticated and feature rich the detector the heftier the price. For a fun hobby and a quick start opt for a cheaper detector with fewer features that will be easier to learn to operate correctly and give you some quick results. For the more experience treasure hunter or those who want better results and are prepared to take the time needed to learn how to use them correctly a more expensive machine with multiple features is the best option.

Conclusion

Whichever metal detector you choose be prepared to learn how to use it correctly. Research the type of soil present in the area you intend to hunt and look up reviews of different models and makes to make sure the one you buy is suitable.
